Therapeutic massage is a manual manipulation of soft tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to help enhance a persons well-being and health. It uses many different methods and techniques such as Myofacial release, Trigger Point therapy, Muscle energy techniques, pregnancy massage, PNF stretching (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), Joint mobilization and basic lymph drainage.

Massage can be used to simply relax and take 'me' time or to help rehabilitate you after an injury.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as professor of biomechanics.

Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and it''s effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction

Hot Stone Massage is a variation of massage therapy using heated, smooth, flat stones to massage. The premise of hot stone therapy is that the direct heat of the stones can penetrate 10% deeper than Swedish massage causing the muscles to relax allowing the therapist to access deeper tissue layers. Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It's also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure. Some of the benefits of hot stone are

  • provides relief and pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and other chronic conditions
  • decreases pain and muscle spasm
  • reduces chronic stress and tension
  • increases flexibility in joints, aiding in easier mobility and movement
  • relieves pain and tension created by strained and contracted muscles

Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue. The gentle, non-invasive approach of prenatal massage can ease discomfort associated with pregnancy, help the mother-to-be prepare for labor and give her nurturing emotional support.

Prenatal massage offers a wide range of physiological, emotional and psychological benefits.

Pre-natal massage assists in remedying many of the common discomforts experienced during pregnancy such as muscular discomforts, lower-back pain, upper-back pain, headaches, leg cramps, sciatica, stiffness, tension and knots, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, heartburn and acid reflux, fatigue, varicose veins, nasal congestion, shortness of breath, edema of the lower extremities, neck pain, interscapular pain, sacroiliac and hip joint pain and constipation. This is only a short list of the benefits of prenatal massage.

Reiki addresses physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
